I’m back with my weight loss update!
Diet + Workout
So let’s start with the good news. I have been able to remain pretty consistent with my workouts. But to be honest that hasn’t really been the problem for as long as i’ve been trying to loose weight. The real problem is my diet. And this month, not so great. I was feeling pretty jazzed about my crazy successful January (link) and I went into February pretty strong.
But then….I definitely fell off. The second and third week I ate pretty terrible and not like I wanted to lose weight at all. I can’t give any explanation for why, except for the fact that i’m just someone who struggles with wanting to overeat. It’s something i’ve always had to deal with and i’ve been trying to work through. However, going into the last week of February, something clicked for me and I realized how badly I want to get this under control. I got back on track and this past week I have been doing perfectly with what i’m eating! No overeating so far 🙂
So here are my results so far for February 2016:
Weight Loss: ??
So…another confession I have to make is that I skipped my weigh ins once I started overeating. I just knew that if I got on the scale and saw the weight gain (which I knew would happen) it would only further hurt my self esteem. So for this month, I can’t really say if i’ve lost any or not. I’m leaning towards no, but I can’t say for sure.
I’ve always known this weight loss journey wasn’t going to be easy, and I knew I would have months where I didn’t do so well. But it’s not about how you fall down, it’s about how you get up! I am determined to make this THE year that I lose the weight and keep it off. So looking ahead, what i’m hoping to do is to continue my success in working out consistently. When it comes to my diet, I have been following a radical idea….of only eating when i’m hungry.
I know that may sound simple, but for someone who struggles with overeating this can be a new experience. For me, this is completely new. Now, I wait until I am legitimately hungry before I eat. I don’t eat on a schedule, and I don’t eat out of boredom stress, etc. I’m hoping this will help me to keep my overeating in check because I wont ever be hungry, but then i’m also not mindlessly eating just because. We’ll see how it goes!
